LORAIN, Ohio — The man who filmed the scene of a crash involving two teenagers was sentenced Wednesday for disorderly conduct and vehicle trespassing.
Paul Pelton, 41, filmed the scene of a crash that killed Cameron Friend, 17, and severely injured Zachary Gooding, 17, instead of helping the victims. Pelton opened the car door and filmed inside the vehicle. He then posted the video on Facebook and tried to sell it to TV stations.
FOX 8 reported Pelton took a plea deal and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and a $250 fine.
The deal included the dismissal of bribery and witness intimidation charges after he went to the injured teen’s house to persuade him to tell police he had permission to open the car door.
