BUNNELL, Fla. — A Florida man was arrested early Wednesday after he allegedly threatened firefighter-paramedics with a metal pipe, News 6 WKMG reported.
John Benning, 55, called 911 five times late Tuesday, according to an affidavit.
When law enforcement officers arrived, they said he smelled strongly of alcohol, and had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Officers said that the man thought his brother had been poisoned by his partner, but the brother said Benning was overreacting, and the firefighter-paramedics looked him over. Deputies said that Benning started yelling and picked up the pipe.
He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a firefighter and misuse of 911.
