Texas EMT responded to 630 calls without a license

He hasn’t responded to the allegations and the state filed reprimand paperwork against him

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — An EMT has been reprimanded for responding to hundreds of 911 calls without a license. He was certified at the time.

A state investigation revealed that Hillcrest EMS EMT Mario Sanchez Jr. responded, without a state license, to 630 emergency calls and patient transports from July 2010 to March 2011. He received an EMT certification in March 2011, which expires in March 2015.

The Texas Department of State Health Services released reprimand paper against Sanchez and Hillcrest EMS, which reportedly closed in 2014. The documentation indicates Sanchez hasn’t responded to the allegations filed against him, which has delayed the proceedings.

The paperwork did not indicate if any patients were hurt while under his care.

Hillcrest EMS was also fined $2,000 as part of the investigation.
