UK medic disciplined for texting patient

The paramedic used the patient’s record to find the woman’s phone number and later repeatedly texted her

WAKEFIELD, England — A paramedic who used patient records to obtain a woman’s phone number has been cautioned by a fitness to practise panel.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service worker Mohammed Saeed sent text messages to a woman he had taken to A&E to find out if her friend was single, the panel heard.

A disciplinary hearing at the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) was told he attended the patient’s home after a 999 call in September 2013.
