CARCASSONNE, France — A rugby player suffered a serious injury to his penis after being tackled during a game in February.
Telegraph.co.uk reported that Haydn Peacock, 23, was tackled in the first half of the game and said he knew something was wrong but continued playing.
“There’s a photo of me screaming in pain and I finished out the half,” Peacock told rugby website French Footy. “The pain was alright and then at half time I was like, ‘I’ve got to have a look.’ I checked on it and the skin was half ripped off.”
Peacock was taken to the hospital and received 11 stitches in his penis.
Despite the injury, Peacock played in the next game.
“The coach wanted me to go out and buy a cup but I’m not going to play with a cup, I’m not going to be able to run. I just had to heavily strap it. It’s all good (now). I got the stitches out and it’s all sweet. No dramas,” Peacock said.
