LAS VEGAS — A fundraiser was launched for a paramedic who is unable to work after being injured in a vehicle crash.
KTNV reported that paramedic Ronald Myers, who was a responder after the Las Vegas shooting, is forced to stay home for at least two months after a driver ran a red light and hit his car while he was driving to work.
“I automatically called dispatch and got an ambulance dispatched to myself and then called out for the night,” Myers said. “It’s a minimum of potentially 2 months before I could go back to work.”
Myers’ colleagues, as well as members of the motorcycle group Carpe Mortem, launched a GoFundMe to help support the paramedic while he is out of work.
“Ron is not the type of guy to reach out, to ask for help,” Myers’ colleague, Cameron Seisan, said.
Seisan said the outpour of support has been “really overwhelming,” with more than $5,370 raised in just four days.
“I’m just thankful for everyone for putting this together and all the funds that have been raised so far,” Myers said.
