NEW YORK — The FDNY denied a petition to posthumously promote an EMT who was killed on duty.

NY1 said a petition with more than 9,000 signatures requested that FDNY EMT Yadira Arroyo be posthumously promoted to lieutenant.

FDNY denied the request, saying Arroyo was not set for a promotion at the time of her death. A spokesperson said there was no other “legal or administrative process” for her posthumous promotion.

Arroyo, 44, died in March when Jose Gonzalez stole her ambulance and ran her over. He was charged with murder and robbery.
