The Darlington County EMS is in mourning.
“We have lost a friend, one of our own,” the agency posted Saturday on Facebook. “We are trying to process this today and ask for your thoughts and prayers for the family and our EMS family, fire, LE and dispatchers. We are all one together.”
The single-vehicle collision happened at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, and three people were in the SUV, according to the highway patrol. None of the vehicle occupants wore a seat belt, and there was no indication as to what caused the SUV to veer off the road.
The highway patrol is investigating.
