JOHNSTOWN, Pa. — A local group unveiled plans Thursday to build a West End park to honor fallen paramedic Janice Keen-Livingston – and fellow first responders – for generations to come.
Plans call for a park to be built at Chandler Avenue and Garfield Street to honor Keen-Livingston and fellow fire, police and EMS responders – both past and present, organizers said in a press conference Thursday.
It’s envisioned as a two-year project, said Erin Kabler, a park planner, city policeman and Keen-Livingston family spokesman.
And if all goes according to plans, the park would be framed by an LED-lit brick wall that would honor the names of former first responders.
A large white silhouette of an angel would stand in the center of the park, he said.
Fundraisers are being planned and those interested in supporting the project can donate to the Janice Keen-Livingston Memorial Park Fund through the
Community Foundation for the Alleghenies at www.cfalleghenies.org.
