ATHENS, Ga. — A long-time paramedic died Tuesday night when a car he was working on in a garage at his home fell on top of him.
Bryan Segars worked for Elbert County Emergency Medical services for 22 years, Online Athens reports.
Rescuers were called to his home around 10 p.m. Tuesday after his wife found him trapped under the car, according to EMS director and Elbert County Coroner Chuck Almond.
“He was taken to Elbert Memorial Hospital where he died,” Almond said. “He was an excellent paramedic and an excellent person.”
Segars, who was in his early 40s, also worked as an EMS instructor for Athens Technical College.
The death has been ruled accidental.
