SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — A Northern California man has been charged with randomly stabbing to death a hardware store clerk who objected to his spray painting his face in the black and silver colors of the Oakland Raiders.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Daymond Agnew told investigators that Allah told him to go into the El Sobrante hardware store to help people on Sunday morning.

The Chronicle reports the 34-year-old Agnew told investigators he spray-painted his face at the store because “the Raiders are favored by Allah.”

Agnew is charged with stabbing to death 51-year-old Daniel Stone as the clerk told co-workers to dial 911. Authorities say Agnew fled the store in blood-soaked clothes, and in a bizarre twist was arrested after crossing a creek and ending up in the home of the store’s owner.
