SIMFEROPOL, Crimea — A man shot and killed two paramedics and injured two others in a revenge attack on Monday.
Bekir Nebiev, 55, allegedly took a hunting rifle and drove to the ambulance station in the Crimean capital of Simferopol, the MailOnline and local newspapers reported.
He then shot and killed paramedics Irina Sukhanik, 30, who died at the scene, and Tatiana Katkova, 55, who was hit in the abdomen and died on the way to the hospital.
Paramedic Vladimir Slonchak, 42, was shot in the head and neck and was seriously wounded. He is now recovering at the hospital.
Paramedic Olga Zvonik, 21, was shot in the left arm and is being treated at the hospital.
Nebiev was not captured but he left a copy of his own cardiogram at the scene with the words scrawled: “This is revenge.” He was allegedly given a wrong diagnosis when he had a minor stroke.
Local reports also said the man was angry over the death of his 16-year-old relative, believed to be his granddaughter, three weeks before. The girl was allegedly given a wrong diagnosis as well.
After the murders, the suspect took with him “all the family savings” and is currently at large.
