In recognition of the role Police Chief Fran Hart and the Burlington (MA) Police Department played in the development of ZOLL’s AED Plus, ZOLL has donated 24 AED Plus devices, plus the required training and certification, to the Burlington PD. The donation is valued at $60,000.
In 1999, then-Lieutenant Fran Hart was first approached by Fred Faller, ZOLL’s principal mechanical engineer and designer (and Burlington resident), asking for the PD’s input in developing the AED Plus. Thanks to the Department’s insight and ideas, several changes were made to the device’s original design. The final product meets the requirements of the first responder and public access markets. These markets include EMTs and fire personnel, plus trained laypersons such as security guards, flight attendants and office managers. For more information on ZOLL products, visit www.zoll.com.
