SOULSBYVILLE, Calif. – Emergency Training Services, a leader in educational programs for EMTs and paramedics, has received successful live-saving results out in the field from providers who have taken their courses.
Paramedic intern Steve Ignash, with Tuolumne Ambulance in Calif. and a former ETS student, assisted in CPR that saved a toddler’s life. A 3-year-old toddler nearly drowned in a creek after wandering away from her home.
According to officials, Dave Hanson, father of Lizzie Hanson, found his daughter floating in the creek shortly after disappearing. He initiated CPR until Ignash and the Tuolumne Ambulance crew arrived.
Ignash continued CPR and quickly transported the girl to Sonora Regional Medical Center where medical personnel recovered a pulse. She was then flown to Stanford Medical Center where she made a full recovery from the incident.
From previous interviews, witness Paul Padavana issued this statement, “I’m really glad she’s OK. It didn’t look good the day it happened. I think her father should thank himself for how it turned out. Any parent would want to do what he did, but apparently he had the training, and he didn’t even hesitate. I’m sure that and the fast response from the EMTs saved her life.”
Mr. Ignash received his paramedic training through ETS, Inc. This miraculous save of a toddler is just one example of the many good calls and high field save numbers interns are receiving with their extensive training.
