Emergency Preparedness Systems team member Kevin Collopy and I were shooting photos for a series of continuing education lessons about spinal injury assessment and treatment. I prefer to use a spider strap to immobilize the patient to the backboard, but the thing I like the least about the spider strap is putting it away if it has not been removed correctly from the backboard. This can be especially annoying if the strap was removed while the backboard is in the woods. Lots of leaves, grass, and pine needles quickly attach to the Velcro.
So we shot this short education video on spider strap removal.
