CLEARWATER, Fla. — A respiratory therapist on her way to work at a hospital hit a pedestrian on State Road 60, and then likely saved the man’s life, Clearwater Police said.
Portions of Gulf To Bay Boulevard were shut down near Keene Road for hours after Patricia Syraski’s vehicle hit a pedestrian just after 6:00 am Monday. “It’s terrible. You see something happen. You don’t expect it. It was really very awful,” Syraski said.
Syraski’s training kicked in and she immediately began first aid. “When somebody’s pulseless, not breathing, I think you just want to do what’s right,” she said.
