GLOUCESTERSHIRE, UK — A 23-year-old student died after an ambulance service refused to send a crew from a neighbouring county.
Rebecca Wedd was forced to wait 40 minutes for a paramedic crew to arrive, despite an ambulance being free just 15 miles away.
But because the incident and spare ambulance were in different counties and covered by different control rooms, the controller of the available crew refused to release them in case it left them short.
