Bechtel INEEL, Idaho Falls, ID is a multi-site Trident NTS PassPort® system with a digital interface to the Orbacom Technology Series (T5) console system. The T5 system includes 14 operator positions, which are a mixture of local and remote consoles. The Resource dispatching software presents all the power of the PassPort® system on an easy-to-use graphical interface.
The LA Fire Department, Los Angeles, CA is one of the busiest fire departments in the nation and is now dispatching radio assets utilizing the Orbacom T5 console system. The T5 system was sold by one of Orbacom’s premier resellers Durham Communications Inc. of Phoenix, AZ. The T5 console system is composed of 11 operator positions utilizing The Resource dispatching software.
The City of Houston, Houston, TX is currently installing their T5 system sold to the consolidated Police and Fire dispatch center. It represents one of the most advanced applications of the T5 console system. The system is comprised of two T5 central processors linked by high-speed data paths to create an OrbaNet system. The OrbaNet system empowers dispatching personnel to access either of the central processors and control available radio assets. The system installed in Houston is also the first T5 console that supports MDC1200® encoding and decoding functionality.
In addition, the Holocaust Memorial Museum, Washington D.C. is a TDM-25 with three positions. This CRT-based system will control conventional and trunked radio assets on the FEDSMR system. Access and control of these radio assets will be performed by The Resource, user-friendly dispatching software.
In Buncombe County, NC the new countywide Tait Quasi-Sync simulcast radio system is being controlled by the Orbacom T5 console system. The system being deployed was sold through Orbacom’s premier resellers Durham Communications Inc. The T5 system consists of 10 dispatch positions controlled by The Resource dispatching software.
Adams County, MS this Trident NTS PassPort® system employs a digital interface to the T5 console system. The system incorporates two T5 central processors linked by the high-speed data paths to create an OrbaNet system. This OrbaNet system allows dispatching personnel to access either central processor and control available radio assets. The scalable T5 system includes two operator positions at the Police Department and one position at the Civil Defense location and are handled by The Resource dispatching software.
The Library of Congress selected the Orbacom Technology Series (T5) console system for controlling radio assets and associated voting system. When fully implemented, the system will also include Orbacom’s OrbaNet solution to create the highest level of fault-tolerance available today. The T5 will be the fourth leg of the OrbaNet solution currently in place on Capitol Hill. The T5 system includes 4 CRT-based operator positions with two desktop electronics CIP’s and two zero footprint workstation configurations and are presented using The Resource dispatching software.
Lastly, Union County, PA is in the process of fully integrating their dispatch center. The revamped center will be utilizing integration elements of the Orbacom companies including Genisis computer-aided dispatching software, the Orbacom TDM-150 communications console and our Series 9 dispatch furniture. This seamless integration of Genisis CAD and The Resource provide an easy-to-use and intuitive dispatching workstation allowing a dispatcher to respond to any emergency situation.
