Powered by Vestagen’s Vestex® branded fluid repellant and antimicrobial technology, Blauer uniforms will be made of a breathable, comfortable, attractive fabric that is engineered to last
BOSTON, Mass. - Under a new licensing agreement, Vestagen has achieved its next milestone on the path to capture the $2 billion healthcare uniform market. The company is currently in discussions with other world-class manufacturers of uniforms for workers facing exposures to fluids and other contaminants and expects licensing agreements will follow. These partnerships will reduce needless exposure of workers to fluids and other potentially dangerous materials they encounter at work.
“The risks posed to the medical professionals and other workers, patients and the community by multi-drug resistant bacteria on clothing is real and growing,” said Ben Favret, president and CEO of Vestagen, maker of Vestex technology. “The presented and published research on Vestex performance clearly documents its effectiveness. We believe Vestex™ powered uniforms will be the new standard all healthcare-related personnel. We are proud to partner with Blauer to execute our shared mission of helping to protect those who protect us.”

“We have a 75-year history of innovation and serious protection in the public safety uniform space,” said Stephen Blauer, president of Blauer Manufacturing Co. “Blauer is proud to be first to bring this technology to the EMS market. New York City Fire Department Paramedic and YouTube rap sensation Lt. Farooq Muhammad’s “Keep Yourself Safe” video shows how Vestex™-powered EMS uniforms made by Blauer will help keep EMS workers safe. Vestex is all about serious protection.”
The Blauer/Vestex partnership announcement was made at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the National Association of State Emergency Medical Services Officials (NASEMSO) in Boise, Idaho.
Active Barrier Protective Uniforms—powered by Vestex™ technology—were studied clinically by Dr. Gonzalo Bearman at Virginia Commonwealth University. Bearman reported his results in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, a peer-reviewed publication, in March of this year.
