EMT steals $10K Rolex off dying patient

Family members later discovered the watch listed on eBay

MESA, Ariz. — An Ariz. EMT stole a $10,000 watch from a patient he was transporting in his ambulance and attempted to sell it on eBay.

Jason Edward Alexander, 32, was working in the ambulance that took patient Michael Brandon to the hospital.

Brandon died, and his family discovered that his 1969 Rolex Submariner watch, valued at $10,000 was missing, The East Valley Tribune reports.

The family found the missing watch listed on eBay and contacted police.

An investigation revealed Alexander was the seller.

Alexander told police he sold the watch to a friend for $1,400. He is currently on paid administrative leave from Rural Metro Corporation.
