EMS provider cited after ambulance crash

The ambulance was not responding to an emergency call when the crash occurred and there were no patients on board at the time

BRADENTON, Fla. — The Bradenton Police Department is investigating a crash today involving a Manatee County Emergency Medical Services ambulance and a car.

The crash occurred at around 10:32 a.m. in the 200 block of Manatee Avenue East.

The ambulance was entering Manatee Avenue East from a side street and failed to yield the right of way to oncoming traffic, according to a Bradenton Police Department investigation. A car hit the ambulance and the driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

The ambulance was not responding to an emergency call when the crash occurred and there were no patients on board at the time of the collision. The driver of the ambulance was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
