WASHINGTON — A D.C. ambulance caught on fire Friday night after its crew delivered a patient to a local hospital.

WUSA reported that the crew of two were finishing up paperwork and ready to head out when they noticed their vehicle was on fire. A nearby extinguisher was used to put out the fire and no one was hurt, according to the report.

The cause and extent of the damage are under investigation.
