CALGARY, Canada — A paramedic from Rocky Mountain House is in hospital with possible life-threatening injuries after he was hit by an alleged drunk driver in a head-on collision Monday.
The ambulance, which was travelling on Highway 11 near Highway 752 without lights and sirens, was transporting a Mountie around 2 p.m. to the Rocky Mountain House Hospital after the police officer found what is believed to be a clandestine drug lab.
“He felt he may have inhaled some of the chemicals present,” said RCMP spokesman Sgt. Patrick Webb.
