BURNABY, British Columbia — An ambulance shortage in Burnaby is threatening residents’ safety, B.C.'s paramedics union says.
B.J. Chute, spokesperson for the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 873, said Burnaby needs funding for more ambulances to keep up with the city’s growing, aging population.
“We feel that patients’ lives are at risk,” Chute said in an interview.
“There just isn’t enough ambulances to keep up with the calls.”
