Ambulance crash sends 4 to hospital in Canada

CBC News

CALGARY, Canada — Calgary drivers aren’t paying enough attention, emergency officials say after a crash between a car and an ambulance that had its emergency signals on.

Adam Loria, a spokesman for Emergency Medical Services, said many drivers are oblivious to emergency vehicles even when lights and sirens are activated.

“I’ve seen people brushing their teeth while driving, headphones in their ears listening to music, loud music in their vehicle,” he said on Monday. “Their 110 per cent focus should be on the roadway.”
