SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Three people were transported to the hospital after an ambulance and another vehicle crashed Monday morning.
Officials said the ambulance was on a call and attempting to make a U-turn when it was struck by a Jeep. The Jeep pulled over when the ambulance initially passed, but did not notice it attempting to make a U-turn.
“He got back in his lane, and was not paying attention. Therefore, when the ambulance went to do a U-turn and go to the call, with lights still going, he struck the ambulance,” Sangamon Deputy Jim Hayes told FOX. “So just give the ambulance or emergency vehicles plenty of room to do what they need to do.”
No other injuries were reported.
