3 injured after ambulance hydroplanes, crashes on highway

The vehicle fishtailed and ran off the side of the road; the EMTs sustained minor to moderate injuries

MORGAN COUNTY, Mo. — Three people were hospitalized after an ambulance crashed Tuesday morning along a highway.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Elaine Kesel, 58, was driving the ambulance at approximately 2:58 a.m. west on the highway when the vehicle hydroplaned, began to fishtail, ran off the right side of the road, and overturned.

Kesel sustained minor injuries in the crash, according to Lakeexpo.com. One occupant, Donald Kelley, 63, of Gravois Mills, Mo., sustained minor injuries, while another, Vito Fiordimondo, 29, of St. Peters, Mo., sustained moderate injuries, according to the report.

All three individuals were taken by ambulance to a hospital for treatment, according to the report.
