COMPTON, Calif. — A Compton Fire Department ambulance responding to an emergency call was struck by a car in a Compton intersection, authorities said Monday.
The accident occurred at Myrrh Street and Acacia Avenue, near Compton High School, about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, said Deputy Chief Marcel Melenson of the Compton Fire Department.
The ambulance was responding to a medical emergency with lights and siren on when it was broadsided by a Ford Mustang in the intersection, Melenson said.
