PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Forbes Regional Hospital named Dr. Daniel Schwartz to fill the newly created position of emergency medical services medical director, hospital officials announced on Tuesday. He will oversee emergency medical services and emergency pre-hospital care at the Monroeville facility.
Schwartz, 38, of Highland Park completed the emergency medicine residency program at Texas A&M Corpus Christi and fellowship training in emergency medical services and pre-hospital medicine at the University of Texas and San Antonio Fire Department. He has experience in disaster medicine, hazardous-materials response and rescue operations.
He holds the rank of major in the Army Reserve. Schwartz is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and remains with the military as the director of tactical medicine and combat medic medical director for the 5501st Army Hospital.
