In this week’s Inside EMS Podcast, hosts Chris Cebollero and Kelly Grayson revisit their thoughts on cameras in ambulances in light of a paramedic chief in Windsor, Ontario, who defends a “video monitoring” policy allowing some county facilities and employees, including paramedics, to be recorded on camera. A Canadian paramedics’ union claims the policy is breaching privacy laws.
Cebollero and Grayson also send a shout out to Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Company for displaying a Code Green Campaign logo on their ambulance. They are both advocates for raising awareness about mental health issues among responders, with an aim to prevent responders from dying by suicide.
They also stress the importance of safe driving after reviewing a video of a Hungarian ambulance “playing real-life Grand Theft Auto.”
In the Clinical Issue, they discuss the importance of EMS Week, which starts May 17, and EMS for Children Day, held on May 20, to raise awareness about the need to improve and expand specialized care for children in the prehospital and acute care settings.
