Environmental Tectonics Corporation (AMEX:ETC) announces the release of several grant opportunities to assist emergency response organizations in obtaining ADMS, the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator, either by direct purchase of ADMS systems, or purchase of ADMS Training Services.
The grants inlcude:
- Homeland Security Program (HSGP)
- Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG)
- Infrastructure Protection Program (IPP)
- UASI Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP)
These grants can benefit State and Local Emergency Management Agencies, Police Departments, Port Authorities, Rail and Transit Authorities, and Medical Services by providing the most efficient and effective all-hazards preparedeness training available today.
ADMS is an interactive virtual reality-based team training system that provides emergency responders an opportunity to develop skills in the four C’s: Command, Control, Coordination and Communication.
ADMS Team Training ADMS training exercises match specific training objectives, local procedures, facilities, assets and personnel. ADMS trains to the National Incident Management System (NIMS) standards for incident management protocols and procedures for effective collaboration between federal, state and local response teams at all levels of NIMS response requirements. ADMS trains from management and control, to all on-scene requirements.

FY2008 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP)
-Application period is open until May 1, 2008-
DHS has released the FY 2008 HSGP grant guidance and application kit that will total roughly $1.7 billion in funding for state and local counterterrorism efforts. A core mission of DHS is to enhance the ability of State, local and tribal governments to prepare, prevent, respond to, and recover from terrorist attacks and other disasters.
The FY2008 HSGP is comprised of five separate grant programs:
- State Homeland Security Program (SHSP)
- Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI)
- Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Program (LETPP)
- Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS)
- Citizens Corps Program (CCP)
Together, these grants fund a range of preparedness activities, including planning, organizations, equipment purchase, training, exercises, and management and administration costs.
FY 2008 Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG)
-Application period is open until March 1, 2008-
DHS has released the FY 2008 EMPG grant guidance and application kit that will total roughly $291 million in funding for state and local counterterrorism efforts. The EMPG program provides resources to assist State and local governments to sustain and enhance all-hazards emergency management capabilities.
FY 2008 Infrastructure Protection Program (IPP)
-Application period is open until March 17, 2008-
DHS has released the FY 2008 HSGP grant guidance and application kit that will total roughly $852 million in funding. IPP is comprised of five overall programs: for state and local counterterrorism efforts.
- Transit Security Grant Program (TSGP) - protect critical transit infrastructure from terrorism
- Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) - to enhance access control and credentialing, protect against IED and other non-conventional attacks, and conduct disaster-response training
- Buffer Zone Protection Program (BZPP) - to safeguard critical infrastructure sites from terrorist site surveillance or attacks with a focus on public-private partnership and fusion center coordination
- Trucking Security Program (TSP) - to identify and recruit highway professionals (carriers, drivers, first responders, highway workers) to actively participate in an anti- terrorism and security awareness program, as well as implement training programs
- Intercity Bus Security Grant Program (IBSGP) - to prioritize vulnerability assessments, security plans and preparedness exercises
FY 2008 UASI Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP)
-Application period is open until May 1, 2008-
The NSGP will provide $15 million in grants to support target-hardening activities by nonprofit organizations at high risk of an international terrorist attack.
