STOCKTON, England — Lifeboat crews were called in to rescue stranded residents in Wrensfield, Stockton, as fast moving water raced through homes, leaving a trail of destruction.
Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s (RNLI) Flood Rescue Team volunteers were called just after 7pm to the flooded area near Bishopton Road, Stockton, and rescued several people from Wrensfield Road.
The team of seven specially-trained volunteers, who were involved in the Cockermouth flood rescue operation in 2008, also transported gas engineers to suspected leaks and checked on sick and vulnerable residents.
