PORTERVILLE, Calf. — A 22-year-old Porterville man was arrested Tuesday night on attempted murder charges after stabbing his girlfriend in the face, Porterville police reported.
The stabbing victim was rescued by paramedics who saw the attack while driving on West Vandalia Avenue near the Lowe’s store just before 11 p.m.
According to a police spokesman, the couple had gone to a church function and had pulled into a parking lot to discuss ongoing problems when the suspect pulled out a kitchen knife and began stabbing the victim, breaking the blade in the process.
