Ricardo Kendle, who had just been released from jail, allegedly “became irate” and tried to pull a paramedic out of an ambulance

OKLAHOMA CITY — A man was arrested after allegedly attacking a paramedic and trying to steal two ambulances.

News9 reported that hours after Ricardo Kendle was released from jail, he approached an EMSA ambulance at a hospital and asked the female paramedic for help, according to EMSA Chief of Staff John Graham.

After the paramedic told Kendle she was busy with another patient, Graham said Kendle became violent.

“He became irate, opened her door and started to pull her out,” Graham said. “Tried to get in, push her over so he could take the ambulance.”

Graham said an officer Tased Kendle, but he was able to escape and tried to steal another ambulance, biting one of the paramedics in the process.

“It’s a hazard of the job,” Graham said. “Bitings happen more than you would think.”

Kendle was eventually arrested and admitted into the hospital.

“We run into violent situations all the time,” Graham said. “A lot of times it’s when we are there to take care of people.”

Police said Kendle had been arrested earlier in the day for allegedly busting out windows at a law school and beating on car windows. He was booked into jail and released hours later.

He now faces charges of attempted kidnapping, robbery and assault and battery.
