BOISE, Idaho — This week, Ada County elected officials had the opportunity to see life through the eye protection of EMS providers.

Ada County Paramedics invited local leaders to don PPE and perform emergency medical tasks, CBS 2 reported.

Chief Shawn Rayne said the event was to give leaders an idea of what it’s like to work in EMS, particularly during the pandemic.

“Really to get that experience of what it feels like to wear that PPE, it’s very restricting, it’s hot, your goggles fog up while you’re trying to do tasks, just to give them an understanding of what it’s been like for the last 18 months to be a paramedic or EMT,” Rayne said.
