SPENCERPORT, N.Y. — Two carnival workers were injured Sunday night as they tried to take down a Ferris wheel that had been used during the annual Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival and Parade.
The Democrat and Chronicle reported that Jill Cordts, chair of the Spencerport Chamber of Commerce, said her husband, who is a volunteer firefighter, said the accident happened as the ride was being taken down at the end of the carnival.
The event was over at the time of the accident and no one was on the Ferris wheel, according to the report.
The two workers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the report.
A snapped cable caused the collapse, WHAM reported.
