HOUSTON, Mo. — A former part-time paramedic was arrested for endangerment of a child and seven felony drug charges.
Houston Herald reported that former Texas County Memorial Hospital paramedic Vince Loyd was arrested and charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance, four counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities said they found a wide array of drugs in Loyd’s home, including a metal tray containing lines of white powder, 15 different types of pills, ecstasy and marijuana.
“We have spoken with investigators in the case, and there were no issues with Mr. Loyd on any of the shifts he worked,” TCMH spokesperson Joleen Senter-Durham said. “Like all employees at TCMH, he was required to pass a drug screening exam to be employed here.”
Loyd’s son was at home when he was arrested. The mother and the Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division were both contacted.
Loyd is currently being held on a $30,000 bond.
