BATON ROUGE, La. — Two sisters who crashed their car on the way home from a Taylor Swift concert say the LED bracelets from the show helped them signal for help.
Elizabeth Dazzio was driving when she fell asleep at the wheel, crashed the car, WBRZ reports.
Dazzio and her sister Caroline were trapped in the vehicle and their cell phones were dead.
“You could smell the gas and smoke,” Caroline said. “I was just thinking we need to get out of this car.”
No passing cars stopped, so the girls used the LED bracelets, which had been programed to sync a flashing light to the beat of the music, to flag down people driving by. Eventually, a woman and man stopped, pulled the girls from the car, and called 911.
The woman told the girls she saw the lights and knew someone was in trouble. Elizabeth was hospitalized and is expected to be released soon.
Swift tweeted that she was glad to hear the girls were doing well.
This is unreal. I’m so happy they’re okay. http://t.co/UnylIwhZv5
