Video: Runaway cart victim sues Cowboys Stadium for $1M

Willie Amendola, father of Patriots receiver Danny, has filed a lawsuit, citing “great personal embarrassment”

DALLAS — Broken bones heal over time, but a bruised ego requires a lengthy, and apparently costly, recovery process.

That’s the argument being made by a Texas high school football coach who is suing Cowboys Stadium LP for $1 million, citing the “great personal embarrassment” he sustained after he was mowed down by a runaway golf cart at the stadium in 2011.

Amendola was humiliated, but not badly hurt, when he was “struck, without warning, by a motorized cart, which employees ... failed to exercise proper control over,” the suit filed Tuesday in Dallas County Court states. Amendola’s Dekaney Wildcats had just won the Class 5A Division II state championship and he was being interviewed near the famous Cowboys star at the 50-yard line when the cart careened into the crowd, sending everybody to the turf.
