AMARILLO, Texas — When a paramedic arrives at the door and has to help a senior patient, information is critical.
But what if the patient has had a stroke or is unconscious and cannot speak? The lack of knowledge could be deadly.
But a reinvigorated program in Amarillo, called “Vials of Life,” hopes to give emergency caregivers all the information they need to ensure proper care for patients who need their assistance, said Susan Hammett, supervisor with Adult Protective Services, an agency of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
