NAPA, Calif. — Piner’s Ambulance Service would be able to continue providing emergency medical services to local residents even if an employee strike materializes next week, Napa County officials announced Friday.

Piner’s has provided a written plan documenting that it can meet its contractual obligations even if employees strike, according to the county’s public health officer Dr. Karen Smith.

“Piner’s has presented evidence that it can provide ongoing ambulance services that will meet our needs,” she said in a prepared statement. “County residents will continue to have uninterrupted emergency medical services.”

Piner’s serves all of Napa County including American Canyon.

The employees and management are locked in a dispute over station assignments and security issues that would allow management to search workers’ personal vehicles.
