SOUTHAMPTON, England — A new system to improve the time it takes ambulance crews to handover patients when they arrive at hospital is being introduced across Hampshire.
South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SCAS) says a new alert system which informs A&E staff and ambulance crews of the vehicle’s progress has been a success on trial in the county.
Computers show hospitals an estimated time of arrival for patients which enables staff provide a swift handover.
