KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Council is moving closer to settling a case involving a man who allegedly died while en route to a hospital without the ambulance crew realizing it.
The council’s Finance, Governance and Ethics Committee today endorsed a $205,000 settlement with the family of Frank M. Nigro Jr. The measure goes to the full council for a vote Thursday.
On Jan. 19, Nigro was being taken on a non-emergency transport from a Northland hospital to see a specialist at St. Luke’s Hospital near the Country Club Plaza. The trip in near-blizzard conditions took more than an hour.
