Fatal Utah ambulance crash injures 2 EMTs

Passenger in car was killed while patient in ambulance was also injured

SOUTH OGDEN, Utah — An ambulance traveling code 3 was involved in a four-vehicle crash Friday morning in Utah, leaving a car passenger dead and two EMTs injured.

The ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital at the time of the crash.

Police said the ambulance was on Highway 89 when it struck a Buick entering an intersection on a green light, according to The Standard Examiner. The ambulance then struck two other vehicles that were stopped at the light.

A female passenger in the Buick was killed, while the patient in the ambulance — in addition to the two EMTS — were injured. The extent of their injuries are not known.
