HAMEL, Ill. — A tractor-trailer rear-ended an ambulance Monday night in Ill., injuring four.
The Alhambra/Hamel ambulance was on its way to a call in the right lane of the interstate when it was hit, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The ambulance was in the right lane, police said, when it suddenly turned right, as if to exit and ascend the ramp the wrong way.
The semi hit the back of the ambulance, overturning it.
Both drivers and one passenger in each vehicle suffered “incapacitating” injuries, according to the police report, and were transported to the hospital.
