REDDING, Calif. — Officers are searching for a pickup that crossed into oncoming traffic, struck an ambulance and drove away Friday afternoon north of Yreka.

A black 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup with a camper shell crossed into the northbound lanes of Highway 263 south of the Pioneer Bridge and hit the driver’s side of an ambulance at 12:35 p.m., the California Highway Patrol said.

No one was hurt, but the truck didn’t stop, they said.

The ambulance was going to Interstate 5 for a man who suffered a stroke near the Collier Rest Area.

The truck should have a damaged rear fender and tail-light damage, officers said.

Anyone with information should call 841-6000.
