ATLANTA, Ga.— A Georgia State Patrol trooper injured in a crash early Saturday with a wrong-way driver in Bartow County was involved in another wreck en route to the hospital.

Just after 5 a.m., the unidentified trooper spotted a pickup truck driving on the wrong side of the road on Davis Drive and attempted a traffic stop, authorities in an emailed statement.

The truck kept going and a chase began. Both vehicles crashed on Old Alabama Road at Sewell Road, injuring the trooper, the State Patrol said.

Three men got of the truck. Despite minor injuries, the trooper managed to capture one of the three men, authorities said. The detained man’s name was not released Saturday.

On the way to the hospital, the ambulance carrying the trooper overturned, officials said. The trooper and emergency personnel were not seriously injured in the single-vehicle crash, the State Patrol said.
