SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — An ambulance was hit by a large object that was thrown off an overpass while transporting a patient.
FOX Illinois reported that the Logan County Paramedic Assistant Ambulance was on the highway when its windshield was hit by what appeared to be a large cinder block or rock.
Logan County Paramedic Assistant Ambulance CEO Steve Siltman said this is the first time they have experienced this type of incident, but he’s aware that it is occurring around the United States.
No one was hurt in the incident, but the ambulance sustained an estimated $6,000 to $10,000 in damage.
The incident is currently under investigation.
