MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The Milwaukee County Transit System released new video last week that shows the moment of impact when a county bus struck a parked Bell ambulance on Dec. 7, 2021, WISN 12 News reported.
Two EMTs and a patient were inside the rig when the crash occurred. Both providers were transported to the hospital, but were later released. The bus driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. No details were released about the patient’s status.
There were no passengers on the bus when the crash occurred. Following the release of the video, MCTS released a statement:
“On December 7, 2021, an MCTS bus hit an ambulance with employees and a patient on board. No passengers were on the bus. Since the incident, the driver has been assigned to administrative duties. We have no evidence that our driver was impaired in any way. We are committed to the highest standards of safety and driver training. We regret that this accident happened and hope those who were injured make a full recovery.”
