RED LION, Ohio — Multiple people, including EMS providers, were transported to the hospital after an ambulance was involved in a head-on collision.
WHIO reported that a Lebanon ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital with its emergency lights on when it was involved in a crash with two other vehicles, according to officials.
State Troopers said a vehicle that was yielding for the ambulance was passed by a pickup truck, which then struck the ambulance head-on.
“When you’re in the back of an ambulance the EMTs, they’re not seatbelted in, they’re working on the patient,” Lt. Chuck O’Bryon said.
The five people injured in the crash are reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation.
